Discovering Peacefield: A Tranquil Vegan Farm Sanctuary near Gainesville, FL

Wander Here: Peacefield Farm Sanctuary, Newberry, Florida USA

Picture waking up to the serene sounds of a farm, where the animals' morning calls set the tone for a day filled with connection and joy. Peeking out of your front windows, you're greeted by Charlotte, the donkey, and Andrew, the adorable baby cow, inviting you into their world. Join the kids, barefoot and carefree, as they say good morning to Tim, Henry, Daphne, and the rest of the animal gang. The bond formed is instant, making the impending goodbye in a couple of weeks all the more challenging. As the kids spend hours immersed in the pastures, playing, holding, and talking to their newfound friends, every meal becomes a reminder of the animals eagerly awaiting their share.

Exploring Peacefield: A Vegan Oasis in Gainesville, FL

Situated on 30 acres just outside of Gainesville, FL, Peacefield emerges as a beautiful farm sanctuary that embraced our family during the initial two weeks of our Great USA road trip.

Healing, Education, and Community

Peacefield is more than a sanctuary; it's a haven for healing, education, and community—three elements we sought as we embarked on our journey into the unknown. Beyond rescuing and rehabilitating farm animals, from chickens and cows to sheep, pigs, and the endearing donkey, Charlotte, Peacefield aims to educate visitors about the health and planet benefits of embracing a vegan lifestyle. Excitedly taking on the challenge of a fully vegan experience, our family even celebrated a vegan Christmas during our stay.

Magical Moments Beyond Animals

The enchantment of Peacefield extends beyond its residents. Hosts and owners, John and Emma, inspired us with their passion for protecting and raising animals. They go further by making a positive impact in their community, hosting weekly events that welcome people from all around to share in the farm experience—be it yoga, learning sessions, or simply finding community among like-minded friends. John's mom, Kathy, a comforting presence on the property, became our go-to source for everything about the animals, their stories, and caring for them. Her vegan treats, especially her chili, became a cherished part of our stay.

Beyond Airbnb: Peacefield as an Unforgettable Experience

Peacefield is not just an Airbnb…it’s an experience. One of our goals with our 500 day road-trip is to find a web of people who are living life differently, making a lasting impact and giving back to the world in a way that matters. We still can’t believe we were so lucky to start that web our first two weeks on the road. Peacefield changes you and leaves a lasting impression. From evaluating how to improve your own health, the health of animals and the planet, to learning how to slow down and be more present and in tune with nature and yourself - it’s a place that leaves a mark on your heart + your life journey.
